Owned and Built in 1961 by Warren (Jelly) Wilhelm and Neil Stong in Wichita, Kansas.  The chassis was built using a common hand tools, and a hack saw, a drill motor, a rotary file, and a gas welder.  This is the only Sports Cars Chassis that was ever built by Warren.  He is more noted for his drag car and street rod chassis.

The car was driven by Bill Moore of Ponca City, OK in 1961 whom paid to upgrade the originally decided upon components, including magnesium wheels, tires, and disc brakes.  He also paid for all the travel and race expenses as well as maintenance on the Devin Special.  In 1962 Bill Moore purchased the Devin Special from Warren and Neil.  It was then sponsored by the Bill Moore Chevrolet Co. of Ponca City, OK.

This car won or placed high in all the races it campaigned.  It was raced from 1961 to 1967 by Bill Moore and then sold to a Richard Sherod in Ponca City, OK  whom set it up for drag racing in 1968.  After a year of drag racing it was put into storage.
