My SS: Chassis SS3-3. Last SS built. Bill sold it to me about 2 years before he died. It was the "development" car that he tried out chassis changes, etc. on. I had to take all the "improvements" off and put it back to stock since they didn't work. It was apart but I got all the Devin-built parts. It took me 7 years to finish the car and it is now driving. I still need to make a hotter 283 for it (make it into a 301). It has the full SS suspension and disc brakes, etc. but the chassis was made in California, as were many of them. The Irish and California SS chassis are roughly the same (all differ in details) except that CA chassis originally had rectangular outer frame members to make the bodies easier to mount. However, I know of a few CA chassis that were changed to round outer members for some reason. My car has a 283 bored to 292 with the Devin intake manifold and a 600 cfm Holley. I wish I had a set of Devin valve covers, but I do have the Cal Custom covers the Devin covers were made out of. -Harold Pace
